CCUK Ltd - UK's first independent Cosmetics Cluster

We are delighted to announce the beginning of a new phase in the evolution of Cosmetics Cluster UK, with the formation an independent registered charitable company - Cosmetics Cluster UK Ltd (CCUK). The new board of Dr Gill Westgate, Jane Evison, Alastair Gardner and Lisa Buck have been working hard to develop a strong plan to meet the needs of the industry, focussing on four key pillars of activity:

• networking & international clusters;

• education & workforce skills;

• sustainability;

• research & innovation

Whilst in-person events remain suspended due to the restrictions of the Covid-19 situation, work has been ongoing with several projects, including the Education and Skills White Paper in collaboration with a number of  industry associations; participation in a series of webinars mapping the beauty industry situation in the world, which is coordinated by the Global Cosmetic Clusters group of which we are a member; and a brand new collaboration with National Biofilms Innovation Centre (NBIC) to attract companies to work with them in the area of oral health. CCUK was the first official cosmetics cluster in the UK, created in 2015. Lisa, Alastair, Gill and Jane (https://www.cosmeticsclusteruk.com/meet-the-team) all benefit from a long involvement with the development  of the Cluster since its earliest days and bring with them a wealth of experience, passion for networking and the connections to drive its mission to connect companies in the cosmetics industry to support best practice, collaborations and solve challenges together as a ‘network of networks’. Board member Dr Gill Westgate commented:

“The cosmetics and beauty sector is hugely important to the UK economy and I am delighted that CCUK Ltd will continue to represent and serve its members, by connecting with the wider sector as the UK's first and only Cosmetics Cluster and in partnership with other networking organisations”.

A new simplified membership structure has been put in place which makes joining easier and more accessible https://www.cosmeticsclusteruk.com/join-us-1
